At approximately 3:35 am on March 14, 2026, officers from the South St. Paul Police Department responded to a residence located in the City of South St. Paul, within Dakota County, on a report that someone had been threatened with a firearm during a house party at the residence. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with Victim A (an adult male fully identified in the reports), and he reported the following facts. He is romantically involved with Witness 1, and they were in Witness 1’s bedroom. A man identified as Quinton Lavon Shackleton [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, “busted” through the door and was looking for a portable speaker.
Victim A shut and locked the door, and the defendant said, “give me the speaker, I’m going to kill you, get the gun.” Victim A and Witness 1 believed the defendant was going to shoot them. An officer spoke with Witness 2. She said she was in her room which was next to Witness 1’s room and she heard the defendant say, “grab the gun, I’m gonna shoot this bitch up.” An officer spoke with Witness 3 and 4. They confirmed the defendant was mad about the speaker and threatened to kill Victim A. They said they saw the defendant with a black handgun and magazine earlier in the evening.
The residence was searched pursuant to a signed search warrant. A black handgun was located in the fireplace damper.
