On November 5, 2025, officers of the Lakeville Police Department responded to a business located in the City of Lakeville, Dakota County, Minnesota for a report of an employee who had been fraudulently making charges to a company credit card. Officers spoke with management of the company who reported that Candace Madonna-Marie Landeg, born on [DOB REDACTED], had been issued a company credit card solely for work related purchases and that the company had identified personal purchases dating back to March, 2025. Management from the company reported that they had already spoken to Ms. Landeg regarding purchases made with the company credit card that were outside the scope of permitted purchases and that Ms. Landeg had reported that it was an accident.
Officers then reviewed records and determined that there had been consistent purchases for personal transactions throughout the year. Officers spoke with Ms. Landeg who admitted that she had made the purchases, that she knew that they were not permitted to be made by the company, and she stated that although the original purchases were an accident, later purchases were made due to financial stress. Bank statements show that in October, 2025, $1,931 worth of items were purchased on the company credit card at various businesses in Dakota County and that these purchases were not authorized by the company.
