On December 29, 2025, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office received a report of the fraudulent use of a company credit card from Schroeder's Appliance Center which is located on Birchdale Road in Crow Wing County, State of Minnesota. Crow Wing County Deputy Revering then interviewed a member of management of Schroeder Appliance identified as AAP (fully identified in police reports). AAP stated that he recently discovered that numerous unauthorized purchases had been made on one of their fleet vehicle credit cards.
AAP stated that approximately 21 separate charges had been made on the card from September 22, 2025, until December 27, 2025, totaling approximately $1,386.11. AAP stated that each fleet vehicle has a credit card assigned to it. Employees can use the credit card to fill up the vehicles with gas. The employee enters their individually assigned identification number when using the card. AAP stated that he became suspicious when he saw the one card had been used to purchase diesel fuel when the assigned fleet vehicle ran on unleaded fuel.
AAP stated that a suspect in the fraudulent use of the card was a former employe identified as Logan Richard Heinlen, [DOB redacted], hereinafter defendant. AAP stated that the defendant quit working for Schroeder appliance on September 20, 2025. He also drives a diesel truck with his last name on the license plate. AAP stated that the defendant was formerly in a position where he could have access to employee's identification numbers to enter when using the fleet credit card. Deputy Revering reviewed the printout documenting the dates and times the fleet credit card had been used.
Deputy Revering observed the credit card had been used at least 5 times at locations in Crow Wing County from September 30, 2025, until December 2, 2025. The card also appeared to have been used at locations in Morrison County and Benton County as well. Deputy Revering obtained a photo of the use of the credit card in a transaction in Crow Wing County which showed a person in a blue winter suit pumping gas into a vehicle with the plate # MN HEINEE. The person pumping the gas can be seen in a photo in a separate transaction at a Kwik Trip store in St. Cloud as well.
Deputy Revering showed the photos to AAP and he identified the person pumping the gas as the defendant. AAP also identified the truck the gas was being pumped into as the defendant's personal vehicle. On January 9, 2026, Deputy Revering spoke with the defendant. The defendant ultimately admitted that he kept a company credit card when he left his employment with Schroeder appliance. He admitted he used the credit card several times to purchase fuel. He used his former co-worker's identification numbers when using the card.
His personal vehicle uses diesel fuel and has # MN HEINEE on the license plate. The defendant acknowledged that he should not have used the credit card for his own personal use after he left employment with the company. He also said he did not let anyone else use the credit card.
