On April 21, 2026, officers with the Burnsville Police Department were dispatched to an apartment building on Portland Avenue S in the city of Burnsville, which is within Dakota County. Dispatch advised that the reporting party’s ex-boyfriend had been making threats against her. An officer made contact with the reporting party, an adult woman who is fully identified in police reports, hereinafter “Victim,” at her apartment. Victim reported that she had been in a romantic relationship with Osman Ahmed Mohamed ([DOB redacted]), hereinafter “Defendant,” but that Defendant had recently broken up with her after accusing her of infidelity.
Victim further reported that Defendant had been messaging her and that his messages had initially been insulting her, but that he had begun threatening her. Victim showed law enforcement a video recording she had received in which Defendant said that Victim has “twenty-four hours left on this earth,” as well as “I’m going to murder that b****. That b**** is dying I’m putting a 40 in her f****** head,” and, “that b**** is dying today,” while also saying that he was going to “strangle the life out of,” Victim, and that he was going to “air[] out her whole crib.” This last threat is understood to be a threat to shoot Victim and/or Victim’s home.
It is understood that the video recording was taken on April 14, 2026. Victim reported that she knew that Defendant possessed a firearm, and also that on April 19, 2026, she had left her home, only to come home and find that her back door was fully open and that her possessions had been gone through. Victim reported that she believed that Defendant was the one who did this. Furthermore, officers were able to observe text messages between Victim and Defendant. In one text message Defendant tells Victim, “U dont got alot of time left in this dunya after that comment.” “Dunya,” is an Arabic word which roughly translates to, “the world.” A KOPS alert was issued, and Defendant was located, arrested, and transported to the Dakota County Jail.
