On January 19, 2026, at approximately 5:32 A.M., deputies were called to the report of a break-in at a residence in the Township of Randolph, County of Dakota, State of Minnesota. The reporting party told deputies that a camera inside the residence captured two individuals inside the house wearing all black clothing with their faces covered. The reporting party stated the suspects were looking through a china hutch while he was watching through the camera. Despite the attempts to conceal their identities, the reporting party told deputies he believed one of the individuals was JOSHUA DAVID HARO [DOB REDACTED]. Deputies responded to the residence and located a vehicle known to be driven by HARO parked in the woods off to the side of the residence.
Deputies noted there were two sets of footprints leading from the vehicle to the residence. Deputies made several announcements over a squad intercom for the suspects to exit the residence without success. Upon making entry, deputies encountered HARO. HARO denied to deputies that anyone else was inside the residence initially, but when told there were cameras, HARO admitted the other person inside was his girlfriend, Samantha Jo Kraudy. Kraudy then exited the residence and was taken into custody as well.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party again who stated that neither HARO nor Kraudy had permission to be inside the residence. The reporting party stated that HARO had gotten into the residence on a prior occasion and stole several items. Deputies were provided with several video clips from inside the residence showing HARO inside the residence open the front door for Kraudy before both of them begin walking around inside still wearing full coverings of their faces. HARO was searched incident to arrest and deputies located a pair of blue latex gloves in his pocket as well as six necklaces and six bracelets.
After waiving his Miranda rights, HARO told deputies that he and Kraudy wanted to go to the residence to have a “spiritual moment” in order to find clues that would lead to the location of a missing relative. HARO told deputies he parked his vehicle in the woods to be “low key” so the neighbors couldn’t see. HARO claimed to have a key to the residence, but admitted he entered through an unlocked window and then let Kraudy in through the front door.
