On November 13, 2025, a detective with the Eagan Police Department began investigating a series of thefts from multiple stores located in Dakota County. Through surveillance video and traffic cameras, police were able to identify the suspect to be Corey Jamal Lee [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein, who committed the following thefts: May 20, 2025: Defendant entered a retail store in Eagan and selected a fragrance and several cosmetic items totaling $194.00. Defendant concealed the items in his clothing and walked out of the store without paying.
May 24, 2025: Defendant entered a retail store in Eagan and selected multiple cosmetic items totaling $442.00. Defendant concealed the items in his clothing and walked out of the store without paying. May 31, 2025: Defendant entered a retail store in Eagan and selected several travel sized fragrances totaling $240.00. Defendant concealed the items in his pants pockets and left the store without paying. July 26, 2025: Defendant entered a retail store in Eagan and selected several products. Defendant had brought a bag from the store with him and placed the items in the bag.
Defendant exited the store without paying for the items. Defendant then entered the store again and selected a pair of shoes, wallet, and some jewelry. Defendant concealed the items in the shoebox and exited the store without paying. The total value of the items from this incident was $664.00. October 21, 2025: Defendant entered a cosmetics store in Eagan and selected five fragrances totaling $789.00. Defendant concealed the items and left the store without paying. October 26, 2025: Defendant entered a cosmetics store in Eagan and selected four fragrances totaling $610.00. Defendant concealed the items and left the store without paying.
On November 23, 2025, officers received an alert that Defendant’s vehicle was in the area. Officers located the vehicle in a grocery store parking lot and observed Defendant sitting in the driver’s seat. Defendant was placed under arrest and agreed to provide a post-Miranda statement. Defendant admitted to stealing from the cosmetics store and acknowledged the thefts from the retail store. Defendant stated he was stealing items from multiple stores and reselling them because he was between jobs.
