On March 9, 2026, law enforcement responded to a residence in Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota, on a report of a domestic altercation which involved the Victim (a fully identified juvenile male) being dragged by his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle. Upon arrival officers spoke to Victim [NAME REDACTED] in pain and had extensive severe abrasions across both shoulders, buttocks, calves, and heels. Victim reported he broke up with his ex-girlfriend JYESHA JANAE KETEN [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, two days earlier.
Defendant was angry about the breakup and demanded Victim return the Valentines Day gifts she had given him. Victim refused to return the gifts. Following the breakup, Defendant claimed to be pregnant with Victim’s child and asked him to meet her alone at her home. Victim refused to go to Defendant’s home alone but agreed to meet at a clinic, which Defendant refused. On March 9, 2026, Victim used Uber Delivery to pick-up a vape from his cousin’s house and have it delivered to his house. Victim’s cousin informed Defendant of the Uber Delivery and Defendant drove her car to the area of Victim’s home and intercepted the Uber package.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] intercepting the package and ran down the street yelling at the Uber driver that the package was his. By the time Victim [NAME REDACTED], both the Uber driver and Defendant had driven away. Defendant then returned to where Victim was standing and rolled her passenger window down. Defendant told Victim if he wanted his vape, he had to return the valentines day gifts. Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the passenger seat and reached into the car window to get it. As Victim [NAME REDACTED] into the car Defendant accelerated causing the middle pillar to hit Victim [NAME REDACTED] onto the door so as not to get knocked down and run over.
While Victim [NAME REDACTED] onto the car Defendant drove for approximately 3000 feet. While driving, Defendant was on the phone with someone, and Victim heard Defendant telling the other party that Victim wouldn’t let go of the car evidencing that Defendant knew Victim was being pulled by the car. As Victim’s strength depleted his feet and buttocks began to drag on the road. Victim was dragged for some time before letting go of the car door. Victim let go of the car when he noticed Defendant was driving towards parked cars and he feared he would die if he hit them.
Victim was transported by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center where he received 2 19HA-CR-26-358 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 3/12/2026 critical care for his injuries before being admitted to the pediatric burn unit. Victim sustained deep abrasions to his bilateral shoulder blades, buttocks, and smaller abrasions to his heel and knee. Upon evaluation Victim required critical care due to a “high probability of imminent life or limb threatening deterioration.” Defendant initially denied hitting Victim or dragging Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant later said she drove away because Victim was threatening her and punched her.
