On April 13, 2026, at approximately 7:54 P.M., South Saint Paul Police Officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious activity involving two males quickly leaving a vacant house while carrying bags near the intersection of 4th Street and 18th Avenue, Dakota County. Upon arrival, officers located two males in the area that matched the description of the reporting party. These two males were later identified as, JORDAN KEVIN HULL (D. O. B. 8/23/2002) and JUSTIN PAUL HANEY (D. O. B. 2/10/2002). Both were in possession of bags and in possession of various documents belonging to the previous homeowner of 350 18th Ave S, Dakota County.
In a post-Miranda statement, HULL admitted to entering the residence with HANEY and taking mail from the residence at 350 18th Avenue. HULL further admitted to not knowing who resided at the residence and did not have permission to go inside the residence from the owner. During a search of HULL’s person, officers recovered a blue pry bar in his right sweatshirt pocket, a handheld light, two pocketknives and mace. Inside HULL’s backpack were multiple items, including a 18V Makita Brushless Grinder, three plyers, two screwdrivers, two box cutters, and a pocketknife.
In a post-Miranda statement, HANEY stated that HULL entered the residence for two hours before exiting carrying a large duffle bag from inside the residence. HANEY admitted to taking and carrying the duffle bag and being in possession of the mail from the 350 18th Ave S residence. Inside HANEY’s bag were multiple scrape cords, wire, and metal. During a search of HANEY, officers recovered a Makita 18V battery located in the inside right pocket of his jacket. The battery matched the Makita angle grinder that was found inside the bag HULL was carrying.
HULL and HANEY were arrested and transported to the Dakota County Jail without incident.
