On January 16, 2026, at 7:22 A.M., Woodbury Police Officers responded to a Walgreens in the city of Woodbury, Washington Count, Minnesota on a report of person attempting to steal items from the store. When officers arrived, they spoke with an employee who explained what happened. Officers then located the person, Mowlid Abdi Salan, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, standing outside of the store smoking. Defendant said that he was waiting outside for his prescription to be ready. Walgreens wanted to trespass Defendant from the store.
While checking Defendant. Officer learned that Defendant had an active theft warrant from Washington County. Defendant was transported to the Washington County jail by a CSO. Defendant moved in the backseat of the squad. When Defendant exited the squad, CSO noticed that there were 3-4 ecstasy pills on the floor. Defendant denied any knowledge of the pills. The pills field tested positive for ecstasy. Also, at the jail an additional 5 pills were in Defendant's possession that field tested positive for ecstasy.
Defendant is in custody.
