On April 21, 2026, an officer with the Farmington Police Department was dispatched to a residence located in the city of Farmington, which is within Dakota County, on a threats/ stalking call. At the residence the officer made contact with W. J. C., an adult woman fully identified in police reports, and her daughter, a juvenile, hereinafter “Victim.” Victim [NAME REDACTED] had recently broken up with her boyfriend Tyler John Waggoner ([DOB redacted]), hereinafter “Defendant,” and that Defendant had been sending her increasingly more specific and concerning text messages.
W. J. C. Reported that Defendant had threatened to obtain a gun and come to W. J. C. And Victim’s home. The officer reviewed messages sent from Defendant to Victim [NAME REDACTED], which included: “I’m coming with a gun tonight” “So hope you’re ready to fight for your life” “Tell your mom I’m going to kill and rape her daughter” “Then I’m going to leave her in the f****** woods” Victim [NAME REDACTED] from Defendant were especially concerning because Defendant associates with people who could obtain firearms for him, and because he had told her that he was using cocaine and drinking alcohol.
Later that day the officer was able to interview Defendant. After being provided a Miranda warning Defendant stated that he had made statements that he understood were bad to Victim. When asked what such statements were Defendant stated that he had told Victim he would hit her and that he would rape and kill her and throw her in the woods. Defendant was then placed under arrest and his cell phone was seized. He was subsequently transferred to the Dakota County Jail.
