Probable Cause
On March 23, 2026, officers of the Burnsville Police Department observed a vehicle parked at a store located in the City of Burnsville, Dakota County, Minnesota. The officer ran the license plate of the vehicle and determined that the vehicle had been sold to Shawn Trevor Reed Killingbeck, born on [DOB REDACTED]. Officers further noted that Mr. Killingbeck had several active warrants for his arrest and had a driver’s license status of cancelled as inimical to public safety. The officer viewed Mr. Killingbeck’s driver’s license photo and observed an individual who matched this description exit the vehicle and then re-enter.
The officer followed the vehicle, and when the vehicle completed a turn the officer had a clear view of the driver and confirmed that it was Mr. Killingbeck. The officer activated his emergency lights and observed that the driver made no attempts to stop the vehicle. The officer then activated his siren and noted that the driver accelerated their vehicle and eventually went through a red traffic control light without stopping. The officer then discontinued the pursuit.
