On November 18, 2025, Detective Linn with the Wright County Sherriff’s Department was assigned follow up to assist with a credit card fraud at an address in Southside Township, Wright County, Minnesota. On November 15, 2025, MMM who resides at the residence, had a friend over identified as, Chelsea Marie Parton (03-14-90) hereinafter defendant. MLO also resides at the residence and told Detective Linn that only MMM and defendant were at the residence at that time. While MLO was at work on November 16, 2025, MLO observed several fraudulent transactions on her card from Walmart, Verizon, and the BP Gas Station.
MLO then froze her card and contacted Wright County dispatch. The following transactions were provided by MLO: 11/15/25 at 7:28 pm South Haven BP Gas $43.96. 11/15/25 at 7:56 pm Verizon purchase $65.39. 11/16/25 at 7:32 am Walmart online purchase $106.84. 11/16/25 at 7:46 am Walmart online purchase $352.11. 11/16/25 at 8:53 am Walmart online purchase $56.84 The amount of the transactions totaled: $625.14. Wright County deputies responded to Walmart and the BP gas station for further investigation.
Deputy Zachman obtained the BP gas station surveillance footage from the date and time of the transactions and observed defendant purchase gas. Pursuant to a Walmart subpoena, Detective Linn observed the transaction records from the date and time of the transactions to match defendant. Detective Linn observed defendant’s DVS photo which appeared to match the individual in the BP surveillance footage. On November 24, 2025, MLO contacted Deputy Zachman and indicated she also had over $400 in cash taken along with her card.
MLO did not give defendant permission to use her card.
