On May 1, 2026, police responded to an apartment complex located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Shoreview, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Several residents reported that their vehicles were damaged and property was stolen from the vehicles overnight while parked in the underground secure parking garage. NSK told police that he parked his vehicle on April 30 around 6:20 P.M., and when he went downstairs that morning around 5:46 A.M. On May 1, he noticed that someone broke into the vehicle as the driver’s side window was broken.
MAT told police that he parked his vehicle on April 30, and when he came downstairs at approximately 7:15 A.M. On May 1, he noticed that his vehicle was broken into and his passport, work laptop, and fitness band were missing. MAV told police that his vehicle was also broken into, and his passport was missing. AF told police that when she went down to her vehicle at approximately 8:30 A.M., her vehicle had been “gone through”. AF reported that her black jacket and Apple Airpods were missing. SPL told police that he parked his vehicle on April 30 at approximately 10:30 P.M. When he returned to his vehicle around 10:50 A.M. On May 1, he noticed that his vehicle had been rummaged through, and his wallet was missing.
SPL reported that he had two credit cards in his wallet, and when he called to cancel them, he was informed that the cards were used at Target in Minneapolis. A review of surveillance footage showed that the suspect vehicle entered the garage on April 30 at approximately 11:18 P.M. The vehicle drove through the garage, and the male and female occupant got out of the suspect vehicle, looked through several cars, and put several items into the trunk of the suspect vehicle. The suspects drove out of the garage in their vehicle at approximately 12:43 P.M. Police reviewed surveillance video from Target at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Minneapolis.
At approximately 8:13 A.M., the male and female suspect used SPL’s credit card to purchase items at the self-checkout. At approximately 9:53 A.M., the suspects returned to Target and tried to purchase gift cards, but the transaction was declined. The male and female suspects captured on surveillance video at Target matched the male and female suspect who stole items from vehicles parked in the secured parking garage in Shoreview. While making the purchase at Target, the female suspect entered her phone number to activate Target Circle Rewards.
The phone number came back as registered to AISHA ABDIRAHMAN MAHAMUD – [DOB REDACTED]. The investigator compared known photographs of MAHAMUD to surveillance video from the apartment complex and Target and identified her as the female suspect. On May 1, MAHAMUD was arrested in Hennepin County along with a male, ELMI YASSIN MOHAMUD – [DOB REDACTED]. The investigator compared known photographs of MOHAMUD to surveillance video from the apartment complex and Target and identified him as the male suspect.
