On July 4, 2025, at 11:02 P.M., Officers of the Fridley Police Department conducted a traffic stop at [ADDRESS REDACTED] NE in Columbia Heights, Anoka County, on a vehicle crossing the center line. The driver originally identified herself as the passenger’s sibling, giving a false name and date of birth of a real person. Officers were able to search the name given and conclude this was not the same individual. The driver gave another name that was not accurate. Due to the driver giving a false name, Officers placed her under arrest and removed her from the vehicle.
The driver was eventually identified as ERIN DEANN STEARNS [DOB REDACTED], Defendant hereinafter. During a conversation with the passenger, the passenger indicated that he was possessing drugs that belonged to the Defendant. A subsequent search of the vehicle located a black purse containing a white crystal substance in the front passenger compartment and a black backpack on the rear driver's side floorboard containing a small baggie with a white crystal substance. Also inside the backpack were female clothing and female sex toys.
Midwest Lab testing confirmed the substance in the black purse positive for 1.389 grams of methamphetamine and the substance in the black backpack positive for 3.425 grams of methamphetamine, a total of 4.814 grams of methamphetamine.
