On December 19, 2024, at approximately 2:45 P.M., Officer Cook was notified of a shoplifting in progress at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1595 Highway 36 West, Roseville, County of Ramsey. Store Manager Siedschlag reported two males entered Dick’s Sporting Goods, selected and concealed merchandise to include athletic apparel. The first suspect (later identified as White) exited the store, activating anti-theft security sensors, but left the store. The second suspect stopped at the entrance of the store, and returned inside the store with a cart full of merchandise.
Shortly after, the second suspect exited the store through the emergency exit carrying an armful of merchandise. Some of the items had anti-theft security devices. Officers approached the second suspect-identified as ABDILFATAH ABU MOHAMED, [DOB REDACTED]- and arrested him. MOHAMED was searched. During the search, a clear baggie containing a white crystal substance (item #001) was found in his pants pocket. This item was presumptively tested, net weight 2.371 grams, result positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
Inside MOHAMED’s pants pocket, there was a piece of aluminum foil wrapped around a clear plastic baggie containing a gray powder (item #002). The substance was presumptively tested, net weight.060 grams, result positive for the presence of fentanyl. Under MOHAMED’s outer layer of clothing, two additionally stolen items-with anti-theft security sensor- were found. The total value of these two items is $250.00. The total value of the items stolen from Dick’s Sporting Goods by MOHAMED is $588.83. The value of the items stolen by White is $264.99. The total value stolen by both MOHAMED and White is $853.82.
