In the latter months of 2025 and January 2026, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation regarding the possession and sale of controlled substances. The subject of that investigation was SHANNON MARIE WEISBROD [DOB REDACTED]. Detective Riley electronically and physically monitored Weisbrod's movements during this time and observed she was taking short term trips to the metro area multiple times per week. Det. Riley knew the locations Weisbrod was traveling to and from were source locations for controlled substance trafficking.
On January 28, Weisbrod traveled to Oakdale, MN for a brief period of time and then immediately returned to Olmsted County. The vehicle Weisbrod was traveling in (MN UA1880) was located and a traffic stop was initiated in NW Olmsted County. Dean Rabe was identified as the driver and Weisbrod was identified as the passenger. When speaking to law enforcement, Weisbrod claimed to have been at a casino but could not identify which one. Initially she claimed to have been at a casino in Iowa. It is also notable that there is no casino in Oakdale, MN. A K9 deputy responded to the traffic stop and conducted a sniff around the vehicle.
After the K9 partner indicated that there were narcotics present, a vehicle search was conducted. In the front passenger seat area where Weisbrod was seated, a phone, two digital scales, and approximately 116.7 grams of presumptively positive methamphetamine were found. The volume of methamphetamine alone is far in excess of what an individual would possess for personal use and is indicative of possession with the intent to sell. Weisbrod was arrested and transported to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center.
At the ADC, Weisbrod informed law enforcement they could "have fun" with her phone because it had been remotely wiped of all data. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
