On 2/24/2026, at approximately 1826 hours, St. Cloud Police officers responded to a building fire on Moonglow Ct. In the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota. Dispatch advised that the complainant stated that her sister, later identified as Nyanchar James Gach [DOB redacted], the defendant herein, had come home and lit her clothes on fire. Upon arrival, officers spoke to Witness A (adult female). Witness A stated that the defendant had come to the residence and they allowed her into the residence as it was cold outside.
The defendant ultimately went to the downstairs area of the residence, grabbed a cat toy, and attempted to light the cat toy on fire. Witness A grabbed the cat toy to prevent that from happening. The defendant then said to Witness A that she would burn her and then walked into the bedroom. Inside the bedroom, the defendant then lit a pile of clothing on fire with a lighter. Witness reported that once the clothing was on fire, she ran upstairs to get her mother, who was in the rest-room. Witness A then returned to the bedroom area and grabbed the clothing from the bedroom, attempted to extinguish it with water, and was unsuccessful.
Witness A ultimately put out the fire and recalled seeing flames coming from the ground. Police learned that the defendant had fled the scene. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct. The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on the 24th day of February, 2026, in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offense(s) described herein.
