On 08/24/2024 at 13:24, Prior Lake Police officers were dispatched to Mystic Lake Casino, Prior Lake Scott County, Minnesota, for a guest using narcotics. At the scene, officers went to room 1461 for guest, JUSTIN PATRICK HARTMAN, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant. Officer saw that the Defendant was sweating, jittery, and was unable to comprehend was the officers and security was telling him. The Defendant was taken to St. Francis Hospital. Officers learned from Mystic Lake Security that an employee walked by the room and heard yelling and screaming from inside.
Security responded and knocked on the door. The Defendant answered the door. The Defendant appeared under the influence of narcotics. The Defendant told them he had just smoked methamphetamine. Security saw a plastic Ziplock baggie that contained blue and white pills stamped with “M” and “30”, commonly referred to as “MBox 30’s” and a white crystalline substance on the floor next to the bed. Security gave the bag to the officers. The Defendant spoke with officers and admitted to smoking meth and appeared under the influence.
Officers opened the bag and found: Gem baggie containing approximately 0.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Gem baggie containing approximately 2.0 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Gem baggie containing approximately 1.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Gem baggie containing approximately 2.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Gem baggie containing approximately 7.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Gem baggie containing approximately 13.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Gem baggie containing residue.
Gem baggie containing 2 white pills and 4 ½ blue pressed pills with M-30 displayed on them. A total of 26.98 grams of methamphetamine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Officers drafted and obtained a search warrant for the room from Judge King at 14:45. Littered around the room were two laptop computers, a small camcorder, and numerous sex toys. The Defendant was taken to St. Francis Hospital. The suspected drugs were sent to the BCA Forensic laboratory for analysis. On 06/25/2025 the officer received the results of the analysis, which showed that Item No. 6 was positive for methamphetamine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and weighed 11.316 grams.
