In June 2025, Hennepin County Child Protection received a report of sexual abuse of a minor [NAME REDACTED], Defendant herein, during the summers of 2020 and 2021. Minneapolis police joined child [NAME REDACTED] investigating the report. Investigators learned that Defendant's half-sister, hereafter "Victim," had recently disclosed to Defendant's former spouse that Defendant had repeatedly sexually abused Victim during Victims' visits to their home in the summers of 2020 and 2021. Victim's date of birth is in October 2006, and she was age 13 and 14 during the abuse.
Victim was interviewed by a law enforcement agency in the state where Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim reported that she visited Minnesota for approximately 2 weeks during the summers of 2020 and 2021. Victim [NAME REDACTED], during both visits, Defendant engaged in various forms of sexual contact with Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Specifically, Victim described Defendant rubbing his penis against her body from behind, rubbing Victim's genital area with Defendant's fingers over and under her clothing, and removing Victim's bra and fondling Victim's breasts.
Other witnesses with close relationships to Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim's mother and a close friend both reported that Victim appeared to have great difficulty being around Defendant when their father died in 2024. Victim disclosed the sexual abuse by Defendant to the friend in approximately March 2024 and later to her mother. Victim made the disclosure to Defendant's former spouse in June 2025. Investigators confirmed that Defendant and his family were living at a home on Aldrich Avenue North in Minneapolis during 2020 and 2021, and Victim stayed at Defendant's home when she visited.
Defendant's date of birth is February 6, 1987. A report was made to child protection after Defendant's five-year-old daughter returned from a visit with Defendant with an apparent urinary tract infection, redness on her genital area, and unusual problems with toileting accidents. Defendant is not in custody.
