On or about July 30, 2025, the Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force conducted an undercover juvenile demand suppression operation in the City of St. Paul, Ramsey County, State of Minnesota. Law enforcement created an advertisement for commercial sex for one female and posted it on numerous websites commonly used for the purchase of commercial sex. During the operation, a male identified by his Illinois driver's license as Alexandru Florin Logofatu [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, contacted the number on the ad and asked if she was available.
The Defendant was asked how long he wanted to have sex with the undercover officer and he replied “1 h” and asked how much money it would cost. The Defendant was told it would cost “250 for an hr” and he responded by “loving” the message. The Defendant shared a picture of himself and told the undercover officer he was 29 years old. The undercover officer replied with “cool im almost 17”. The Defendant replied with “17?” and an emoji of a smiley face sweating. He then asked “and are you willing to do this?” The undercover officer replied that she was, and the Defendant responded by asking for “naked pictures”. The Defendant asked for the location and asked if he could arrive around 6 – 7 P.M. At approximately 6:11 P.M., the Defendant asked for the address and stated he was free.
The Defendant and undercover officer communicated multiple times over the next hour prior to the Defendant receiving the address about where he was supposed to go. The Defendant became frustrated with driving to St. Paul and not having the address so he asked for a discount for the sexual services. The undercover officer told the Defendant she had to move hotels so there was a delay but would give him a discount to $100 for the sexual services. The Defendant responded with “1 h?” ensuring that he was still getting an hour of time for sex with the undercover officer.
The Defendant was then provided the pre-determined location, located in the City of St. Paul, Ramsey County, State of Minnesota. At approximately 7:37 P.M., the Defendant arrived at the pre- determined location, knocked on the door, and was taken into custody by law enforcement. Officers located a cell phone on his person and sent a verification code and called the phone number of the person they were communicating with who was asking to purchase sexual acts for money. The verification code came through and was verified on the Defendant’s phone.
In a post-Miranda statement, the Defendant admitted to contacting a person he found in a sexual services advertisement online and agreeing to pay $250 for one hour of sex. The Defendant admitted to knowing the person was not 18 years of age.
