On June 8, 2026, at 0144 hours, officers were flagged down by a female, Victim [NAME REDACTED], at Unique Thrift Store located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], New Hope, for a domestic assault report. Officers observed Victim [NAME REDACTED] had a bruised left eye, a cut on her right wrist with stitches, and numerous bruises on her arms. Victim [NAME REDACTED] stated the injuries were caused by her "baby daddy," Marquice Ramon Knight, [DOB REDACTED] (now referred to as "Defendant"). Victim [NAME REDACTED] stated they had been together for 14 years and have 4 children together.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] explained that she was assaulted by Defendant on Wednesday night June 3, 2026, or Thursday morning June 4, 2026, roughly around 22:00 and 23:00 hours. They were both at her home located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], New Hope, Hennepin County. That night they were laughing and having fun, but a fan had fallen out of the window which damaged the screen and she made a comment about the maintenance guy fixing it recently. At first a verbal argument ensued because Defendant was angry about maintenance coming into the apartment while Victim [NAME REDACTED] was there without Defendant.
Defendant then punched Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the left side of her face with a closed fist one time. Victim [NAME REDACTED] stated she did not lose consciousness after the assault, and told officers, "I'm used to it." Defendant then made threats to cut her, and she held her right arm out not thinking he would actually do it. Defendant then proceeded to cut her on her right wrist with a knife. Defendant drove her to the hospital afterwards and told her he was sorry, and that he won't do it again.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] explained that he says the same thing every time after he assaults her. Victim [NAME REDACTED] decided to finally make a report to the police because she is "tired of it" and stated she has children that she doesn't want to see the constant abuse. Medical records were obtained that documented bruising and four stitches being needed as a result of the assault with a knife by Defendant. Defendant is currently in custody at the Hennepin County Jail.
