On January 17, 2026, around 9:54 PM, Anoka Police officers responded to a phone call from a male located on the 1100th block of Highway 10, Anoka, Anoka County. Officers contacted the reporting party via phone to inquire as to his request for assistance. The reporting party identified himself as Jeffrey Albert Tiyemiebi Ekiyor [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Defendant stated there was a male standing outside his room with a knife. Defendant said the male was wearing a green sweatshirt and was knocking on RP’s door.
Officers responded and located a male in a green sweatshirt in the entryway of the building and asked the male his name, to which he did not reply. Officers ordered the male out of the entryway and the male exited the entryway. Upon stepping out, the male created a closed fist with his right hand and struck Officer Houlton on the left side of his face. Officers attempted to place the male into custody, which the male actively resisted until officers restrained the male on the ground. Upon his arrest, officers were able to identify the male as Defendant and the reporting party who called 911. Officer Houlton had a visible red mark on the left side of his face and a swollen left eye socket.
Officer Houlton was examined by medical staff and diagnosed with a concussion.
