On or about September 14, 2025, at approximately 1:45 A.M., Minneapolis police officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired near the intersection of 15th Avenue South and Lake Street East in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male, Victim A herein, lying on the side of Lake Street. Victim A appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg and was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), where he was later pronounced dead as a result of the gunshot wound to his femoral artery.
While at the hospital, Officers learned there was another shooting victim [NAME REDACTED], a juvenile male, later identified as Victim B, who had been transported by private vehicle to HCMC and had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Officers spoke with Victim B at the hospital, who stated he was attacked when he was walking to the vehicle. Victim B stated the suspect said, “give up everything” and shot him in the knee. Victim B stated that he fell to the ground and began struggling with the shooter.
Victim B stated the magazine was knocked loose from the firearm and the suspect then began hitting Victim B in the face with the gun. Victim B described the suspect as having a black and grey beard and that he asked, "you want to die over this?" Victim B stated that he was then shot again in the left side of his abdomen by the suspect who then fled southbound on 15th Ave. At the scene, officers recovered multiple discharged cartridge casings (DCCs) and surveillance videos from the area. Surveillance videos showed numerous people coming and going from the area throughout the evening.
The victims were seen arriving in a vehicle and parking on the east side of 15th Ave, south of Lake St. Victims remained in the area for a period of time before they walked back toward their vehicle at approximately 01:47 A.M. As they reached the vehicle, two males were seen approaching them. One of the males was a black male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and the words “NO RISK NO REWARD” written in white lettering on the front, black pants, and white shoes with red accents near the heels.
Through the course of the investigation, he was identified as TREVON HARRIS, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Harris herein. Defendant Harris approached Victim A at the driver's side of the vehicle. A physical altercation ensued, and Victim A was shot in the leg. Victim A was able to run away from Defendant Harris before collapsing around the corner on Lake Street. There was a trail of blood from where Victim A and Defendant Harris were fighting to where Victim A collapsed. Defendant Harris was seen fleeing southbound on 15th Ave S. Investigators reviewed records from Defendant Harris’ Facebook account, which showed a post hours before the shooting.
