On January 6, 2026, officers with the Metro Transit Police Department responded to a narcotics complaint from a train operator. Officers observed the camera of the LRT Lake Street Station in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers observed two individuals, later identified as N. E. W. And BOBBY EARL MEDLOCK JR., [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein, smoking inside the LRT tower. Officers observed N. E. M. Put a few dollars and cigarettes inside Defendant’s jacket pocket, at the same time Defendant removed a small clear baggie with a white crystal/powdered like substance from his left pocket.
Defendant poured the suspected narcotics into a bubble pipe and gave it to N. E. M. To smoke out of, both parties were then observed smoking inside the tower. They then boarded a southbound train. Officers met the train at the LRT 38th Street Station and detained and arrested both Defendant and N. E. M. Defendant was searched incident to arrest and officers located suspected narcotics from his left pants pocket. The substance was later tested and weighed 0.54g without packaging and field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Defendant has previously been convicted of six felony level controlled substance offenses, and one gross misdemeanor controlled substance offense. Defendant has five pending offenses that have been stayed pending proceedings related to Minn. R. Crim.
