On November 23, 2025, at approximately 1:00 A.M., officers of the Bloomington Police Department responded to calls of a domestic disturbance occurring at an apartment located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], city of Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota, who reported sounds of a woman crying and a door breaking. Officers contacted the occupants of the apartment to include VICTIM and her boyfriend GARRET LEWIS MEYER [DOB REDACTED], DEFENDANT herein. According to VICTIM, a former boyfriend had attempted to contact her at the apartment despite an active Order for Protection but had departed.
Officers took an initial statement and left the scene. Approximately an hour later, VICTIM texted 911 and explained that she was forced to lie by her boyfriend, DEFENDANT, and was actively hiding in the bathroom. Officers returned to the scene and VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] was the actual assailant from the previous report and that she was coerced to lie to the police. According to VICTIM, shortly after midnight she and DEFENDANT were engaged in an argument that escalated when DEFENDANT placed his hands around her neck and carried her from the kitchen to the bedroom, choking her for approximately 60 seconds and obstructing her ability to breathe.
VICTIM physically resisted causing scratch marks to DEFENDANT’s face and neck. DEFENDANT then left the apartment and VICTIM [NAME REDACTED]. DEFENDANT returned shortly after and began pounding on the door while covering the peep hole. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] at which time DEFENDANT pushed it with such force causing VICTIM to fall and hit her back and head. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] investigators that she sought medical treatment at Fairview Southdale and was diagnosed with a concussion, constituting substantial bodily harm.
VICTIM indicated to officers that she is fearful for her safety and wants DEFENDANT to be barred from contact. The State requests a DANCO issue. DEFENDANT is presently in custody.
