On September 11, 2025, officers responded to two calls for burglaries on the 4200 block of Alden Drive, in the City of Edina, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota. Officers learned that both burglaries involved entry into detached garages behind homes, and each garage was missing a bicycle. At the first residence, officers spoke with C. G. Who stated that his wife had noticed that the side door to the garage had been forced open and that the frame of the door was broken. C. G. Provided surveillance footage, which showed an individual walking up the driveway towards the garage behind the residence around 11:30 P.M. On September 10, 2025. A few minute later, the individual was seen riding a yellow bicycle away from the residence.
At the second residence, officers spoke with J. W., who said that sometime around 10:00 to 11:00 P.M. On September 10, 2025, she heard a loud noise and saw the motion activated lights turn on on the side of her house near the garage. Officers observed that the side door of the detached garage appeared to be forced open. J. W. Reported that a dark blue bicycle had been taken from the garage. Officers were able to locate J. W.’s bicycle near the next home on the street, in the direction of the first residence.
Officers were able to obtain DNA from the handles of J. W.’s bicycle, and the DNA was a match for a known sample from Aaron Pitts [DOB REDACTED]. Officers familiar with Pitts based on prior contacts were able to identify him as the individual seen on surveillance at the first residence. The State respectfully requests that this complaint issue by warrant as Pitts has active warrants in other matters and his current whereabouts are unknown.
