On about September 30, 2024, Plymouth police took an in-person statement at their station from Defendant Charles John Strobel's wife, K. S. K. S. Said that she found hundreds of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on Defendant's phone. K. S. Showed officers a text string between K. S. And Defendant where Defendant said he was getting therapy for his problems. A few days later, officers took another statement from K. S. Where K. S. Told officers that Defendant admitted to K. S. To downloading the CSAM images to his phone.
Officers also viewed a letter from Defendant to K. S. Where Defendant writes "I viewed and saved images depicting children being sexually abused.” He also writes: “I write this letter with great embarrassment, regret, and humbly asking for forgiveness.” Based on this information, officers applied for and were granted a search warrant of Defendant's home in Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota. On October 24, 2024, Officers executed a search warrant at Defendant's home. While executing the search warrant, officers recovered several electronic items from the downstairs bedroom which belonged to Defendant.
Those items were forensically examined pursuant to a search warrant. Forensic examination of those items showed 12 CSAM files on the devices. The image shows a prepubescent female that appears to be under the age of 4. The female's vagina and anus are visible and a portion of her legs and lower abdomen.
The female's legs are lifted up toward her body. There is a small red, mole type mark on the right side of her labia majora (outer lip). There is evidence of irritation, small red bumps, in the vaginal area. The child [NAME REDACTED] on top of a pull up with purple and snowflake accents that appears to be urinated in. There is a title of 'newbienudes.com' listed in the top left corner of the image. The State requests that a summons issue.
