On 3/29/2026 at about 0050 hours, St. Paul Police were dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul, Ramsey Court on a report of a Domestic Assault. The complainant, TM, met police at the front of the building. TM appeared distraught and was complaining of an injury to her right hand and arm. TM said that her child's father, Willie James MERRIMAN [DOB REDACTED], assaulted her with a cane, brandished a gun, and threatened her. According to TM, she was at work at about 11 pm when she received a phone call pertaining to a situation involving her kids.
She called the fathers of her children, which included MERRIMAN, to tell them what happened. She said MERRIMAN was livid and called the other child’s father and said "Ima put her in a body bag". MERRIMAN then went to her Milton St address, called the other child's father again, asked "Where that bitch at?," and said "tell that bitch to come outside." TM said that as soon as she walked outside, MERRIMAN was there and swung a cane at her "like a baseball bat" and struck her in the right arm. MERRIMAN then swung the cane a second time and hit her in the right hand, which caused her phone to fall onto the ground and break.
TM said the value of her iPhone was about $1,500. MERRIMAN then hit TM’s vehicle with his cane. As he was leaving the scene, MERRIMAN said "ima kill you bitch" and brandished a gun with a brown handle and a long barrel. Police spoke to TM’s mother, AMM, who said she overheard TM arguing with MERRIMAN over a video phone call with TM. She said she heard MERRIMAN say he was going to "bust your windows and tires." TM’s phone was then knocked out of her hand and she heard TM say "he broke my phone." A pick-up and hold was issued for MERRIMAN. About 8 hours later, 0856 hours, St. Paul Police were dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED] on a report of a domestic dispute; the complainant said her son’s ex-girlfriend was trying to break the complainant’s window.
Police arrived, knocked on the door, and made contact with a female named KIA who said MERRIMAN was in the apartment there. MERRIMAN stepped out into the hallway and was arrested. For purposes of Rule 6.
