Plymouth police began investigating multiple storage unit burglaries occurring at Extra Space Storage in Plymouth, Hennepin, Minnesota, between 11/04/2025 and 11/15/2025. The most recent incident occurred on 11/15/2025 at approximately 7:30 A.M., when five exterior facing units were found burglarized. Surveillance footage showed two suspects using a white Ford Econoline van displaying MN YBP1655, a vehicle consistent with prior incidents. The suspects matched individuals involved in earlier burglaries at the same facility.
Additional Investigation obtained showed that JAMES ALLEN HAGE ([DOB redacted]), Defendant herein, was arrested by Brooklyn Center Police in this vehicle on November 16, 2025. The vehicle was towed for evidentiary purposes because it was full of potentially stolen items. Defendant’s phone was obtained and a search warrant for Hage’s smartphone was issued by Judge Luis Bartolomei and executed. On 11/19/2025, a search warrant was requested and issued for the white Econoline van being held in custody.
A large quantity of stolen property connected to this investigation was recovered from the vehicle. On 12/02/2025, police learned that Defendant was renting a storage unit at Public Storage, [address omitted] North in Brooklyn Park. Police obtained gate access records showing frequent after-hours entries and exits by Defendant Hage between 11/15/2025 and 12/02/2025. His account was marked delinquent on 11/30/2025, and two denied access attempts occurred on 12/01/2025. Despite restricted access, an exit was logged at 0339 hours on 12/02/2025, indicating he remained inside the facility after hours.
Based on this information, police obtained a search warrant for unit G22, rented by Defendant. The warrant was executed on 12/05/2025. Numerous items were recovered, including property confirmed stolen in burglary cases reported to the Brooklyn Park Police Department and charged in ••-CR-••-••••. These items were transferred to Brooklyn Park Police. As police continued to investigate through reports and cellphone records, it showed that Defendant and another committed multiple burglaries on 11/04/2025 and 11/05/2025, using a white Ford Econoline van believed to be MN NMW218. Defendant was observed making repeated trips inside the facility, loading boxes, backpacks, and a bicycle into the van.
Others later removed additional stolen property. As the investigation continued to show that on 11/15/2025, surveillance captured two masked male suspects using MN YBP1655 to burglarize six exterior-facing units (#4007, #4008, #4009, #4010, #4011, #4012). One suspect wore a distinctive red utility glove, and Defendant was identifiable by his gloves and movements. Two red Milwaukee tool chests taken from Unit #4011 were later recovered during the 12/05/2025 search warrant at Defendant’s Brooklyn Park storage unit.
