On or about March 31, 2026, Plymouth police responded to car theft at New Horizon Academy located at 10305 6th Avenue, Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The vehicle that was stolen was a blue Hyundai Sonata with Minnesota plates RHS-762. The vehicle was stolen running, and no one had permission to take or drive the vehicle. Police obtained surveillance that shows at approximately 0742 hours a black in color Chevy Cruze with Minnesota plates PVU-258 drives past New Horizon. The Cruze pulls into the parking lot of the next business and parks facing the New Horizon building before pulling into the New Horizon parking lot.
There are three individuals inside of the Cruze. The driver of the Cruze is a white male with a black hat or hairstyle in a manbun, wearing a dark colored shirt with low chest cut. The front seat passenger is a white male with brown hair, beard, white t-shirt with black zippered hooded sweatshirt, Adidas black track pants and dark shoes. The backseat passenger is a white female with light colored shirt. The individuals were later identified and listed as follows in the Chevy Cruze: Driver - Anthony Allen Green [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Green herein; Front seat passenger - Steven William Ofstie [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Oftsie herein; and back right seat passenger - Kaitlyn Erin Deatherage [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Deatherage herein.
The Cruze pulls into the parking lot of New Horizon and Defendant Ofstie exits the Cruze, walks around the back of the car and goes off camera. The Cruze reverses and waits to leave the parking lot. The Cruze and the stolen Sonata leave the parking lot. Both vehicles leave heading westbound on 6th Avenue in tandem. As police were talking to the reporting party, M. W., Victim herein, they learned Victim [NAME REDACTED] on credit/debit cards that were in her purse when the Hyundai Sonata was stolen.
Victim’s phone was pinging at a gas station as well, but it was dumped by a dumpster. Police received an alert that the Cruze was in the area of [ADDRESS REDACTED] North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. All Defendants were found in the Cruze vehicle when it was located. Police found Victim’s credit/debit cards with Defendant Oftsie after he appeared to be attempting to hide them. In a post-Miranda statement, Defendant Oftsie acknowledged driving around the stolen Hyundai in Golden Valley and could not remember where the vehicle was left.
Defendant Green had a gift card for Victim [NAME REDACTED] stated it was given to him by Defendant Oftsie. Police located a Hyundai key in the Cruze that was later determined to be Victim’s key when police later recovered the stolen vehicle on April 24, 2026, in Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota. As police continued investigating, they learned of fraudulent purchases at the following stores: -Circle K located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota; -Wally's Foods located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota; Clark located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota; -McDonald's located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota; 3 ••-CR-••-•••• Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 5/6/2026 -Pump N' Munch located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota; Super USA (Winnipeg Grocery) located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota; and -Webber Mart located at 1701 44th Avenue North, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
