On February 17, 2026 at approximately 4:07 P.M., Minneapolis Police Officers were monitoring cameras when they located an occupied stolen motor vehicle in the parking lot of [ADDRESS REDACTED], Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The stolen vehicle was a black Chevrolet Suburban with an identified MN License Plate and had been stolen from the 800 block of Lasalle Avenue on February 16, 2026. The Suburban backed into a parking spot on the North side of the apartment building at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. A short time after parking the Suburban, the driver’s side door opened and a person, later identified as AISHA ABDIRAHMAN MAHAMUD, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, got out of the vehicle.
Defendant walked over to another vehicle, later confirmed stolen, a Toyota 4 Runner, that was being driven by an identified accomplice. The accomplice removed the license plates from the 4 Runner, and then Defendant and her accomplice went back to the stolen Suburban and began to go through it. At this point, police formulated a plan and were able to take Defendant into custody. On February 19, 2026, police received surveillance video from the Registered Owner of the Toyota 4 Runner of their secure parking garage on the 1700 block of Bryant Avenue South in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
The footage shows Defendant’s accomplice running to the garage door and attempting to activate the opener for the garage door. The garage door opens, and the accomplice runs out of the frame. Immediately following this, Defendant appears in the frame, driving the stolen Suburban. Defendant then enters the garage in the Suburban, opens the garage door again, and gets back into the Suburban and drives out of the garage, followed by the stolen Toyota 4 Runner, which appears to be driven by Defendant’s accomplice.
License plates for both stolen vehicles are visible in the footage. Defendant remains in custody.
