On December 24, 2025, officers with the Lino Lakes police department responded to the Target store, "Victim" herein, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], city of Lino Lakes, county of Anoka, on a report of theft. Loss prevention employees of Victim [NAME REDACTED] had entered the store, filled their cart with a significant amount of merchandise, and then attempted to walk out the west doors where there is no checkout or self-checkout lanes. When the females were stopped in the vestibule, they let go of the cart but continued walking out of the store.
The value of the merchandise in the cart was $1,647.23. Officers located the females as they were walking in the area and made contact. One of the females, BRITANY PRISCILA TOAQUIZA CHAVEZ [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein, stated that she was the person who stole the items. A victim employee identified Defendant as the person who attempted to push the cart out of the store and steal the items. Officers reviewed surveillance video which showed all three females, including Defendant, loading items of clothing and toys into their cart.
Defendant is seen pulling the cart behind her as she walked out of the store, having made no attempt to pay for the merchandise, with the other individuals following. Defendant is in custody.
