On April 3, 2026, at approximately 11:42 A.M., Saint Paul Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Stryker Avenue, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on a domestic assault. Officer Kanneh arrived and met KER. KER said ANDRE JEROME BOYD, [DOB REDACTED], is her significant other of five years. They live together, but he is not on the lease. Today, they argued because BOYD took some cash from her. She followed him out of the apartment to the front and continued to demand her money. She told him that if he left with her money, she would be done with him.
BOYD approached her, grabbed her neck, and pushed her onto a glass wall at the main door of the apartment. He used his right hand and applied pressure to her neck, and she was not able to breathe. KER said she previously had an order for protection against BOYD after being assaulted by him, but she removed it when he went into treatment. KER had red marks on the left side of her neck. KER also pointed to a lump on the back of her head. Officer McGuire felt the lump on KER’s head. Officer McGuire reviewed apartment video.
The video showed BOYD grab KER by the neck and slam her head back into the exterior wall of the building. KER appeared to go limp briefly, and BOYD let go. On April 4, 2026, officers patrolled the area of on the 600 block of Stryker Avenue, looking for BOYD. At approximately 4:50 P.M., BOYD was observed walking to the main entrance of the apartment building and was arrested. On the transport to the jail, BOYD asked offices when he had the domestic placed on him. BOYD said, “I did not put my hands on my girl.” BOYD said, “If this is the case, it happened yesterday.
She put her hands on me when I was coming up the stairs saying I took, that I took some money from her….” BOYD said KER started swinging at him, and he tried to restrain her. BOYD said he just pushed her away from him. In blueprint questions, KER responded “Quite often” when asked how frequently BOYD intimidates, threatens, or assaults her. When asked when she was most frightened by BOYD, KER said, he gave her a black eye a few months ago. In a subsequent conversation, KER said she did not want anything done with the case.
