On December 26, 2025, Minneapolis police were dispatched to an apartment building on the 600 block of 7th Street South within the city of Minneapolis, Hennepin County on the report of domestic abuse in progress. Officers spoke with an adult Victim, [NAME REDACTED], CHRISTOPHER ERVIN [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter "Defendant," was alone in the apartment. Defendant had "trashed" the apartment and had strangled Victim for approximately 15 seconds by wrapping his hand around Victim's throat. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had a sexual relationship for the last roughly three months and on this date, Defendant threatened Victim [NAME REDACTED] was going to "shoot his house up" and "rape his TV." Defendant wrapped his hand around Victim's throat and squeezed for roughly nine seconds.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] was difficult to breathe and that his voice was a little raspy afterwards. These actions caused Victim to fear for his safety and fear for his life. Defendant was placed into custody based on the reported assault. While confirming Defendant's name, officers learned he was a non-compliant predatory offender. Based on Defendant's behavior, officers believed he was in a manic state and under the influence of a controlled substance. In a follow-up statement with the Victim, investigators learned Defendant strangled Victim 2 times over a 2- day period.
On 12/25, Defendant strangled Victim for about 9 seconds. He did this with one hand around Victim's throat. He could breathe, but it was restricted for a second. On 12/26, Defendant strangled Victim for about 4 seconds. Defendant held Victim on the bed and strangled him. Defendant then made Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant then walked around the apartment naked, masturbated, and then began throwing things around. Defendant held Victim down under a blanket. Victim's voice was still raspy three days later in the follow-up call.
Defendant is in custody pending charges from this incident.
