On January 14, 2026, at approximately 9:12 P.M., Wright County Sergeant Anderson was on routine patrol when he observed a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] traveling westbound on Seventh Street from State Highway 25 displaying June of 2025 registration. A license plate query confirmed the registration had expired in June of 2025. Sergeant Anderson observed the vehicle braking, traveling over the center lane lines, and signaling repeatedly before turning into the Runnings parking lot at [ADDRESS REDACTED] West, Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota, at which time he initiated a traffic stop.
The driver was identified by a Tribal ID card as Donald William Pewaush, Jr., who had a revoked driving status. While speaking with Pewaush, the backseat male passenger appeared to be sleeping and not wearing his seatbelt properly. Sergeant Anderson further observed the rear passengers both appeared to be controlled substance users based on their lethargic demeanors, the female’s facial scabs, and a cut straw similar to a "toot straw" near the center console. Pewaush stated he picked up his cousin "Savannah Boyd" and her boyfriend "David" from the cities and was bringing them home.

Defendant Boyd was ordered out of the vehicle and Sergeant Anderson observed a plastic zip top baggie with white powder residue consistent with a controlled substance under her buttock. Defendant Boyd was detained in handcuffs and a plastic baggie containing 0.36 grams of white powder substance that field tested for cocaine was located in her front pocket.
The male was ordered out of the vehicle and detained in handcuffs after providing the name of David Robert Morrison, [DOB REDACTED]. The male was searched due to proximity of the suspected controlled substances in the backseat of the vehicle, visible drug paraphernalia on his person, and ultimately learning that he provided a false name of another real person. The male was positively identified as Trevon Lee Morrison, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter defendant Morrison. Defendant Morrison had a felony warrant out of Hennepin County for flee in motor vehicle (WNO:25436510), four felony warrants out of Mille Lacs County for drugs (WNO:CR23538), and a felony warrant out of Sherburne County for failure to appear (WNO:[PHONE REDACTED]).
