At around 12:03 AM on April 5, 2026, officers came upon DEANDRE JARROD REED [DOB REDACTED] in the driver’s seat of a running Chevrolet Cobalt stopped in a no parking zone at 215 Old 6th Street, St. Paul, Ramsey County. Reed got out of the Cobalt when officers approached. Reed refused to provide his name for officers, and he claimed the vehicle belonged to his girlfriend. Officers asked Reed his name numerous times, but Reed refused to identify himself. Reed eventually took off running on foot, and he was tackled and brought to the ground by an officer.
Reed identified himself as Dazmond Reed [DOB REDACTED]. Reed later said his year of birth was 1997. Officers arrested Reed and found baggie of suspected drugs in the satchel he wore. Officers found a single round of.22 ammunition on the Cobalt’s driver’s floorboard. Reed claimed to have swallowed drugs and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Reed was medically cleared and taken to the jail where he was identified by his fingerprints. Reed had a warrant out of Wisconsin or felony domestic strangulation.
The contents of the bag recovered from Reed contained methamphetamine that weighed 20.16 grams without packaging. Reed has 9 prior felony convictions: dangerous discharge of a firearm, 2 DANCO violations, burglary in the second degree, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery in the first degree, strangulation and suffocation, and 3 domestic assaults.
