On September 23, 2025 at approximately 5:29 P.M., Mower County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 27100 block of 5401 Avenue in Lansing, Mower County. DEVEN ELLSWORTH WALKER, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the defendant, told dispatch that a female "beat the s#!% out of him" and was chasing him. The defendant stated the female, Victim A (an adult female), struck him three times in the face, was out of control, and chasing him towards the post office. Mower County Sheriff's Deputy J. J, Mueller and Sergeant Katlynne Fisher responded to the residence, and Deputy Ian Henderson responded to the post office.
When at the residence, Sgt. Fisher observed Witness 1 (an adult female) run down the driveway for the residence located in the 27000 block of 540" Avenue. Witness 1 told Sgt. Fisher that Victim A went into their garage. Witness 2 (an adult male) led Sgt. Fisher into the garage, and Sgt. Fisher observed a door to her right slowly close as she entered. Sgt. Fisher quickly grabbed the door handle and opened the door and told Victim A to come outside. Victim A was extremely hysterical and said she did not do anything wrong, Sgt.
Fisher observed Victim A had blood coming from her mouth and had blood on her arms and legs. Victim A said "it's okay, this is what happens to women," and claimed that no on touched her and she fell down. Victim A then moved towards Witness 2 to hug him, and Witness 2 stated "you said you were assaulted and punched in the face three times." Victim A was still hysterical, stating the deputies would not believe her. Sgt. Fisher asked Victim A what happened between her and the defendant, and Victim A said the defendant's mother got him "drugged up." Victim A stated she usually takes the defendant and "hides him" from his mother when she "beats" on him.
Victim A continued to state she fell in the mud outside her truck door because she is a klutz and the defendant did not assault her, When Sgt. Fisher asked her if she sustained the injuries to her mouth due to hitting her face on the gravel or being punched, Victim A began to cry more and said she didn't want to lie but things would get worse for her family. Sgt. Fisher asked Victim A if she was in the passenger seat of her truck or driving, and Victim A said she was driving erratically because she was extremely upset.
Victim A said she was "p***** off from them stealing my cash and everything at my house." Victim A said the "fight" between herself and the defendant did not happen in the truck. Victim A also stated while she was driving the truck, she did throw her phone at the front passenger window and cracked the window. Deputy Mueller then joined Sgt. Fisher, and Deputy Mueller told Victim A he didn't believe that she fell out of her truck, Sgt. Fisher left briefly, and Victim A told Deputy Mueller that sometimes people are used as puppets.
