On or about June 10, 2026, at approximately 2:45 P.M., Metro Transit officers responded to a reported assault in progress at the Lake Street light rail station in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with A. C. (“Victim” herein) and B. R.-W. (“Witness 1” herein). Witness 1 told officers that she had gotten off the train and was near the yellow line on the tracks when a male, later identified as TREVON GEORGE BROWN (“Defendant” herein), walked up behind her and pushed her.
This made Witness 1’s boyfriend, Victim, upset. Witness 1 said she yelled at Defendant, and Defendant started to walk away. Witness 1 said Defendant walked to the lower north tower area and waited. When Witness 1 and Victim went to the lower tower to leave, Defendant struck Victim and kicked him in the stomach. Victim told officers that he saw Defendant push Witness 1, which made him upset. Victim admitted to pushing Defendant back, and Defendant walked away. Victim said he and Witness 1 left the upper level of the station and saw Defendant waiting for them on the lower level.
Victim said Defendant struck him in the face first. Officers saw a small cut and some blood on Victim’s right lip. Other officers spoke with a security officer, D. W. (“Witness 2” herein). Witness 2 said he saw Victim and Witness 1 walking on the upper platform. Witness 2 said Defendant approached Victim and Witness 1 from behind and “shoved past” Witness 1. Victim then confronted Defendant at the upper door to the North Tower, and Victim shoved Defendant back in retaliation. Witness 2 said he separated the parties and walked Defendant down the stairs.
Witness 2 said Defendant refused to leave the bottom of the stairway and waited for Victim and Witness 1 to come down from the elevator. Victim and Witness 1 took the elevator to the lower level, and Witness 2 saw Defendant grab Victim and begin punching Victim in the face. Witness 2 said he saw Victim try to defend himself, but Defendant landed multiple punches on Victim’s face. Witness 2 described Defendant as a black male, approximately 26 years old, 5’7”, and wearing a tan jacket, tan pants, and tan shoes.
Witness 2 said he last saw Defendant walking eastbound on Lake Street towards Target. Officers went to Target on Lake Street and found a male matching Defendant’s description. Officers conducted a show up with Victim and Witness 1, and both positively identified Defendant as the person who had punched Victim. Defendant has been convicted of the following previous qualified domestic violence-related offenses within the last three years: Hamilton County, Ohio: convicted of misdemeanor assault on or about June 23, 2025 (Court Case Number CRB2501171-A) Hamilton County, Ohio: convicted of misdemeanor aggravated menacing on or about January 15, 2025 (Court Case Number 136989169). “Aggravated menacing” is similar and equivalent to misdemeanor fifth- degree assault in Minnesota.
