A sworn officer of the Sartell Police Department duly states the following facts establish PROBABLE CAUSE: On or about October 12, 2025, at approximately 12:00 Noon, Officer Derek Whitehead responded to a theft complaint at Walmart, [ADDRESS REDACTED] 120, City of Sartell, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota. Upon arrival, Officer Whitehead met with Walmart Asset Protection Specialist Amanda Gohman. Gohman advised that she observed a male suspect who she knew from previous contacts to be Damien Frank Ciesco, [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein, to be in the store at approximately 10:26AM. The Defendant loaded items into a shopping cart and while doing so, concealed two laptops and a cell phone in his backpack.
The Defendant then took off his sweatshirt and covered the backpack. The Defendant then exited the store, passing all points of sale, failing to pay for the laptops and cell phone in the backpack. Prior to leaving, Gohman confronted the Defendant in the store's vestibule. The Defendant immediately ran off with the backpack, but abandoned the cart full of other items. Total loss to Walmart is $692. The Defendant knew, or should have reasonably known, that he did not have permission, or the right, to take the laptops and cell phone from Walmart without making payment.
Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all above information is true and correct. The above facts constitute the complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on or about October 12, 2025, in the City of Sartell, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the described offense herein.
