On March 17, 2026, officers were called to a hospital in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota for a report of an assault on a nurse by a patient. When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who is a nurse in the behavior unit at the hospital where Defendant Courtney Leeann Mae Evans [DOB REDACTED] is a patient. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was getting agitated and victim went into the Defendant's room to try and calm her down. When victim went into Defendant's room, Defendant pushed the victim with two hands causing the victim [NAME REDACTED] onto the ground on her hip.
As a result of being pushed by Defendant, victim suffered a fractured hip. Officers placed Defendant under arrest and read Defendant her Miranda rights. Defendant understood her rights and agreed to speak with officers. During Defendant's post-Miranda statement, she admitted that she pushed the victim and the victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant is currently in custody.
