On April 4, 2025, at approximately 10:23 PM, St. Cloud Police Officer Carter Meiners stopped a vehicle bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] near 6th Avenue South and 15th Street South in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota after observing the vehicle had a defective taillight and failed to stop prior to the stop sign at 6th Avenue South and 13th Street South. Officer Meiners identified the driver as Ashley Mary Saddler, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, and smelled the strong odor of marijuana upon approaching the vehicle.
The defendant handed a sandwich bag with suspected marijuana to Officer Meiners when asked if there was any marijuana in the car. The substance in the bag later field tested positive for marijuana. Officer Meiners learned the defendant had a valid warrant and placed her under arrest. In a search incident to arrest, a pill suspected to be ecstasy was located in the defendant's pocket. The pill was later sent to the Minnesota BCA for testing, with the analysis indicating the pill contained methamphetamine.
Methamphetamine is a Schedule II controlled substance. In a search of the vehicle, officers located additional marijuana wrapped inside a make-shift plastic bag. The two bags combined weighed 10.85 grams with packaging. A plastic bag containing white residue was also located in the vehicle. The residue field tested positive for cocaine. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct. The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing the above-named defendant, on or about the 4th day of April 2025, in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
