At around 11:20 PM on June 9, 2026, officers were sent to [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County on a man threatening his family. Officers spoke to SJF (YOB: 2009) who said his brother, MOHAMMED JIKERA FARAH [DOB REDACTED] had been staying there after being released from prison a couple of weeks ago. Farah has become aggressive when he does not get what he wants, and he has been threatening the family for the past two weeks. Farah sent SJF threatening texts all day while SJF was at school. SJF ignored the texts.
Farah grabbed SJF’s arm when SJF got home. Farah had a knife in the other hand that he brandished in a chopping motion. SJF pushed Farah, ran outside with his parents, and called 911. SJF thought he was going to die. Officers spoke to Farah and SJF’s mother, ASA. She said Farah had threatened to forcibly take money from them, and Farah had threatened to kill SJF. Farah broke SJF’s bed frame and tried to provoke verbal altercations multiple times. ASA and JFG said they have not had peace of mind since Farah returned to their home.
They wanted Farah to be arrested and not return to their residence. ASA returned home from an errand to find her husband, JFG, in a park. JFG told ASA Farah had been acting erratically and making threats. ASA called SJF and told him to meet them at the park after he got off the bus. They all returned home together. SJF left to play soccer. ASA overheard a call Farah made to SJF – Farah said he was going to kill SJF when SJF returned home. Farah was holding a kitchen knife while speaking to SJF. ASA gathered all the knives in the home, wrapped them in a sheet, and hid them.
Farah was advised of his constitutional rights and agreed to speak to police. Farah denied anything happened, and he denied having any knives that day. Farah has a prior motor vehicle theft conviction. Farah has a history of assaults that were dismissed due to his mental illness. Farah was charged with felony assault in the fourth degree in Kandiyohi County District Court file 34-CR- 21-132. Farah sucker-punched a correctional officer in the face. Farah knocked on a door asking to be let inside because he needed money. The residents refused Farah entry. Farah threatened to kill the residents while holding a knife. Farah was charged with assault in the fourth degree in Kandiyohi County District Court file ••-CR-••-••••. Farah spat on the officer who arrested him on the assault and threats of violence charges. Farah told the officer to watch out because Farah was going to look for the officer.
