On January 1, 2026, at approximately 6:31 A.M., Saint Paul Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Iowa Avenue East, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on a domestic assault involving a knife. The caller said he needed assistance getting stuff out of the house. The dispatch notes included complainant and friend got in an argument. When caller tried to get his things, the person grabbed a knife and jabbed at him. Officers arrived and made contact with ADP in the lobby of the apartment building. ADP said he got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend-identified as JOHNATHAN LEON CROSS, [DOB REDACTED] (and referred to by ADP as Raven). ADP said he and CROSS (Raven) went out last night with friends.
ADP became jealous of CROSS (Raven) for “shaking her ass at other males.” ADP went back to CROSS’s (Raven’s) apartment on Iowa Avenue alone at some point in the night. CROSS (Raven) stayed out. ADP went to bed. CROSS (Raven) called him around 6:07 (missed call). CROSS (RAVEN) called again at 6:28 A.M. And he went to allow CROSS (Raven) into the building. CROSS (Raven) was extremely intoxicated. They showered. During the shower, CROSS (Raven) was talking s***, and became more aggressive when he brought up that she was “shaking her ass at other males.” CROSS (Raven) walked back and forth from the living room to the kitchen.
CROSS (Raven) went to the windowsill where she keeps her knives and grabbed a big knife. CROSS (Raven) told him to get one. He told her he did not want a sword fight. CROSS (Raven) grabbed a medium knife and challenged him again. He declined. CROSS (Raven) continued to swear at him. ADP started to gather his belongings to try to leave. CROSS (Raven) prevented him from gathering his items and threw his items around. ADP was able to place some his items in his backpack. He and CROSS (Raven) got into a tug of war for his backpack and items flew out.
As he tried to pick up his items, CROSS (Raven) got the bigger knife in the bedroom and jabbed at him with it. He was scared CROSS (Raven) was going to hurt him or stab him. CROSS (Raven) said she was going to kill him and his kids while the knife was in her hand. ADP said he was able to get out of the apartment. He went to the stairwell and used the door as protection against CROSS (Raven). CROSS (Raven) threw his items in the hallway, chased him, and punched him in the nose. He also punched CROSS (Raven). CDP said he went down and met officers.
Officers went to the apartment and CROSS (Raven) answered the door. CROSS (Raven) said she was hanging out with ADP and they got into an argument. She decided to leave ADP and returned to her apartment. She heard knocking on the door and opened it. CROSS (Raven) pushed his way inside the apartment. He said he was trying to gather some belongings. CROSS (Raven) told ADP he needed to leave. CROSS (Raven) tried to close the door on ADP, but he kept his foot in the door. CROSS (Raven) said she grabbed a pan from the stove, and told him to leave or she would hit him with the pan.
