On December 11, 2025, at approximately 1030 hours, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office was working Court Side Security at the Hennepin County Government Center 300 6th Street South, Minneapolis, Hennepin County. While working weapons screening, a female, later identified as NACHEAL LAREESE LARKINS, Defendant herein, was stopped when Deputies observed suspected narcotics in the security bin. The Defendant was carrying a messenger style bag, placed it in the bin and went through security. She was stopped as there were items inside the bag that were not allowed into the Court house such as a nail trimming items.
Deputies then observed suspected narcotics inside the bin. Deputies advised her she was not free to leave and she began placing her items into her pockets and into the bag. In a search incident to arrest, Officers located multiple tin foil pieces in her coat pockets and one piece of burnt tin foil that dropped down her left pant leg. Inside the messenger bag were plastic straws with burnt ends, a glass pipe with burnt residue, Officers know from their training and experience that tinfoil is often used to place controlled substances on, light from underneath with a torch style lighter, and the fumes inhaled with straws.
The baggie in the bin FTP for cocaine and weighed 0.43 grams. In a post-Miranda interview, the Defendant stated it was not her bag but could not name the owner of the bag. The Defendant is currently out of custody.
