Your complainant is employed by the Columbia Heights Police Department. In that capacity, complainant has reviewed official reports filed and has learned substantially the following: On November 15, 2025, Officer Austin and CSO AHA, [DOB REDACTED] were conducting alcohol compliance checks at businesses in the City of Columbia Heights. At approximately 6:58 pm, CSO AHA entered Columbia Heights VFW Post 230, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] NE. Columbia Heights, Anoka County, MN and purchased a Corona Light beer (12 oz) for $4.25 from a male employee later identified Dallas Antonio Villarreal-Griffin, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein.
Following the purchase, AHA exited the bar and reported to Officer Austin that he had provided his Minnesota driver’s license to the Defendant without being asked, prior to receiving and paying for the beer. Officer Austin then entered the establishment, made contact with the Defendant and retrieved the original five-dollar bill used in the transaction. Officer Austin spoke with the Defendant who stated he was unaware AHA was under the age of 21. Officer Austin advised the Defendant that he would be charged by formal complaint at a later date.
