On October 5th, 2025, at approximately 4:07 P.M., Saint Cloud Police Officer Rebecca Okerstrom was dispatched to a residence on Pleasant Avenue in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, Minnesota, regarding a discharge of a firearm within the limits of the City of Saint Cloud. When Officer Okerstrom arrived, she spoke to Dale Orville Willner [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein, about such gunshots. The Defendant stated that he was having a squirrel problem in his yard, had taken a 16-gauge shotgun and discharged the weapon up the tree located in his front yard.
The Defendant admitted that he fired the weapon but did so towards the open area of his lot. When advised that he cannot shoot such weapon in the manner he did in a municipality, the Defendant responded: "I know I am not supposed to do it, but do you know the problem with squirrels, so that's why." The Defendant then showed Officer Okerstrom the shotgun he used. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct. The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named Defendant, on or about the 5th day of October, 2025, in the City of Saint Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
