On December 15, 2025, at approximately 11:56 PM, officers of the Rochester Police Department were dispatched to a residence in NW Rochester, on a report of a domestic assault. Once on scene, officers spoke with Victim- an adult female fully identified in police reports. Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Horton that she had been assaulted by her live-in boyfriend, Wesley Norman Martin Jr. ([DOB REDACTED]), Defendant herein. Victim reported that the two of them had been drinking that night. During an argument, Victim told Defendant to leave her apartment.
Defendant said that if Victim [NAME REDACTED], he would kill whoever she left him for. Defendant refused to leave and then put his hand around Victim's neck. Victim [NAME REDACTED], but it did make it hard for her to breathe for about 30 seconds. Defendant then began striking Victim in the face with an open hand. Victim acknowledged hitting Defendant to defend herself. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been struck 3 times and told Defendant she was going to call the police. At that point Defendant picked up Victim's phone and threw it across her bedroom.
Victim also tried to call the police using her "Alexa," but Defendant continued to plead with her not to call. Defendant left the room and Victim was able to lock him out and retrieve her phone to call the police. Ofc. Horton observed that Victim had a bruise on her face and knees as well as a bloody lip. Victim also had what appeared to be older bruising on her neck. Ofc. Hulshizer spoke with Defendant. Defendant smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot, watery eyes. There was a clump of hair within a few feet of Defendant.
Defendant denied getting physical with Victim. Defendant provided a PBT of.37 and had to be taken to the Crisis Receiving Unit. Defendant was convicted of 3rd Degree Assault in ••-CR-••-••••.
