Your Complainant is a Detective with the Airport Police Department who states that he has read and reviewed the offense reports of Airport Police Sergeant Dittbenner, Airport Detective Eggersdorfer, Airport Police Officer Arnold, Cadet Harris, and Community Service Officers Jurek, and Schmitz and, based thereon, alleges the following: On June 5, 2025, at approximately 9:10 P.M., a vehicle bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] came to the attention of Community Service Officers on the lower Terminal 1 roadway, within the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
The vehicle was slow to move between the terminal doors and refused the Community Service Officers’ instructions to proceed forward so as not to block the terminal door, with the driver screaming “my wife is coming shut the f*** up.” As CSO Harris was writing the driver a ticket for the ordinance violation, the driver, later identified as DERRICK LEN ENGLISH, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, exited the vehicle, pushed past a female who had approached his vehicle, then proceeded towards CSO Schmitz in a fighting stance, but the defendant appeared fixated on Cadet Harris.
The defendant quickly approached Cadet Harris. The defendant had clenched his fists and ran at Cadet Harris for a few steps, assuming a fighting stance, and stated “sup b**** as ni**a, I’ll pop your punk ass” at which point Cadet Harris took a step back into a lane of traffic without looking behind him. The defendant then returned to his vehicle and drove away from the scene. Both Cadet Harris and CSO Schmitz stated that they were in fear of bodily harm. Routine checks reveal the defendant’s driving privileges had been revoked on September 21, 2023 and remained so on the above date.
