On February 15, 2026, officers responded to the Franklin Light Rail station in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, for the report of an assault. Video surveillance captured the assault as well as the distinct clothing of the suspect. Analysts were able to follow the Victim [NAME REDACTED] on video and relay real time locations to law enforcement. Officers subsequently arrested ANTONIO LAWERENCE HIGH [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Officers also located the Victim getting off a bus nearby. The surveillance footage showed Defendant approach the Victim near the Franklin LRT south tower lower- level area and push him against the wall.
The Defendant then cornered the Victim against the wall and started to strike him in the shoulders and chest. Defendant then started searching through the Victim's pockets. A passerby in a vehicle stopped and yelled at Defendant, so the Defendant ran off. A crime analyst located the Victim boarding bus # 1561 following the assault. The analyst advised responding officers who were able to locate the Victim [NAME REDACTED]. When officers made contact with the Victim, [NAME REDACTED] had been assaulted and injured.
He said that while he was waiting for his bus, a man came up and punched him before going through his pockets and taking approximately $40. Surveillance video depicted Defendant as a black male wearing a green and white letterman style jacket with various patches on it. An analyst located the Defendant in real-time on the Franklin Ave LRT platform and boarding LRV 125. The analyst watched on real-time video as Minneapolis Police officers arrived and searched for the suspect. The analyst advised them via radio of the location of the suspect.
He then saw officers arrest Defendant and remove him from the LRV. Officers searched Defendant incident to arrest and located $48 in cash. While enroute to jail Defendant made the following spontaneous utterances: • "Dumbass Indian he didn't even realize what he had" • "Stupid ass old buck nose m***********" • "I'll drop his ass like a bad habit" • "Stupid ass fuckin Indian" • "Yall locking me up because I slapped the dog s*** out of that man" • "Hell, yeah I slapped one of those foreigners" Defendant is currently in custody.
