On March 22, 2026, Saint Paul Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Raymond Avenue, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on a call where a female wanted her boyfriend removed from the apartment. Officers went to the apartment and met SPR. SPR identified her boyfriend-who was in the apartment- as DAVID EDWARD ACKERMANENG, [DOB REDACTED]. SPR spoke to officers in the hallway. She said ACKERMANENG was being belligerent and was drunk, and she wanted him to leave the apartment. They are both on the lease.
SPR asked ACKERMANENG to leave, and he refused. SPR lifted her right arm and showed officers a large bruise on her forearm that ACKERMANENG caused on Wednesday ([DOB REDACTED]). SPR also showed officers a large bruise on her left thigh. SPR said on 3/18/2026, she and ACKERMANENG argued and he eventually “went after her” while they were standing in the middle of the living room. ACKERMANENG pinned her against the north wall, and put both of his hands on her throat. She lost consciousness, was lightheaded, and was not able to breathe or scream.
After he let her go, they continued to argue and they pushed each other in the living room. ACKERMANENG bit her on the forearm. He put her in a headlock and dragged her across the living room and into the kitchen. She could see spots in her eyes and was not able to scream. When he let her go, she caught her breath and went into the bedroom. During blueprint questions, SPR said ACKERMANENG only gets angry when he is drinking. SPR said the first assault was on 3/18/2026. On March 23, 2026, after a Miranda advisory, ACKERMANENG spoke to an investigator.
He said he has dated SPR for a couple of years and he lives at the residence on Raymond Avenue. SPR was drinking a Mikes Hard Lemonade and dumped it on his head. ACKERMANENG said he called police. ACKERMANENG denied assaulting SPR.
